Jeff Uhlenburg, President, is a hands-on owner - manager who is actively engaged in building customer relationships and promoting discussion of issues critical to heat treaters and other manufacturers. He served as President of the Metal Treat Institute (MTI) from October, 2008 - October, 2009, is actively involved in the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), and often represents the challenges faced by manufacturers in speaking engagements before Congress and the Senate. A testament to DHT's commitment to servicing customers, Jeff often relates the story of his father, Don Uhlenburg, who served as President of DHT from 1971 to 2005. In October 1988, a devastating six-alarm fire began in an 8,000 gallon open oil-quench tank and spread to the wooden roof of the building. Everything was lost. Don Uhlenburg committed the company to rebuilding, and to making certain customer's needs were met in the interim. The company reopened in February 1990 in a 34,000 ft shop containing two 18 ft and one 41 ft. car bottom furnaces, quench tanks, sand blast and paint facilities. Approximately 94% of the customers returned. Donovan Heat Treating Co.
